Counting of votes of the Municipal Corporation Elections held in Maharashtra yesterday is in progress in 10 Municipal Corporations along with 309 Panchayat Samitis and 27 Zilla Parishads in the state. In Mumbai, the ruling Shiv – Sena – BJP combine is ahead in 75 seats while the Congress – NCP combine ahead in 50 seats so far. Raj Thackerey led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is leading in about 25 seats.?The Shiv Sena has bagged 8 seats, BJP 3, Congress 3, NCP 1 and MNS 1 as per the results declared so far. In Nashik according to data received upto 1 pm, MNS have won 10 seats, Shiv Sena 08, NCP 04, Independent 1, Congress 11, and BJP have won 6 seats. Out of 130 seats in Mumbai’s neighbouring Thane Municipal Corporation, the Nationalist Congress Party has won 35 seats, Congress 18, Shiv Sena 52, BJP 08, MNS 08, and other parties have won 9 seats.
