<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today flagged off trial runs for the city's two new metro rail lines on the Charkop-Dahisar-Aarey route of Metro 2A and 7. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray showed the green flag to the metro test at Akurli station in Kandivali.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat, Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Aditya Thackeray, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, MMRDA Commissioner RA Rajiv, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar were present on the occasion.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">These two lines will be fully operational from January 2022, with the first phase of Metro-2A Dahisar-Aarey Colony and Metro-7 Dahanukarwadi to Aarey colony commencing from October.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Thackeray said India's financial capital needs additional support for public and large-scale transportation. For this, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is soon providing two new metro rail line corridors to the cities.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The CM stated that such infrastructure aims to give direction and momentum to the city like Mumbai.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The CM added that he is fortunate to be part of this journey of  development  as a Chief Minister of the state. He also said that its appreciable that in the Corona situation the metro construction work has been undergoing in a steady pace without any halt.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Also speaking at the occasion MMRDA Commissioner RA Rajiv said, "today is a historic moment as the first Metro was launched in 2014 soon after, we are moving towards Metro 2A and Metro 7".</span><br />''  <br />
