Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has assured students from North East living in Pune and other parts of the state full protection . Chavan said educational institutions with many such students have been directed to address their concerns and report any untoward incident immediately to the local police. He added that the state police chief has been asked to make adequate security measures. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have sounded an alert across the city for providing protection and ensuring safety of the northeastern population residing in the city.
