US Geological Survey said, the epicentre of the quake, which hit at 1241 hrs local time or 1941 hrs GMT, was 289 km west of Vancouver . The quake occurred at a depth of 23 km. Eyewitness accounts say buildings swayed in central Vancouver . However, no tsunami warning has been issued. Police in Seattle , more than 200 km away in the US state of Washington , said tremors were also felt there, but there were no reports of damage.
