In the United States, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck in the Pacific off the coast of Central America today. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 79 kilometres south-southwest of Acajutla, El Salvador at a depth of six miles. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
