On the occasion of Magh Purnima, lakhs of devotees took holy dip at Sangam in Allahabad and other holy places on Saturday. The same day Saint Ravidas Jayanti was celebrated with enthusiasm and devotional fervor in the state. According to Mela administration about 20 lakh people took holy bath at Sangam on Saturday.<br/><br/>The Magh purnima was also the last days for Kalpwasis’who were residing in the Sangam area since the last one month.<br/><br/>Simultaneously saint Ravidas jayanti was celebrated with great devotion at the Ravidas temple at his birthplace SeerGovardhanpur Village in Banaras. More than two lakh followers of Saint Ravidas took part in the ceremonies at Ravidas temple .Large number of devotees from Punjab also gathered at Sant Ravidas birthplace. A grand religious procession was also brought out in the city to mark the occasion.
