Magh Purnima: Lacs of devotees taking holy dip in Ganga river

In Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of Magh Purnima today, a large number of pilgrims are taking a holy dip at the Sangam since the morning. According to the mela administration, more than eight lakhs people have taken the holy dip till noon.<br/><br/>"Pilgrims at the Sangam have been taking a holy dip on the occasion of Magh Purnima, the last bathing in the Magh mela today. The Kalpwasis who have been staying at Sangam since the last one month are concluding their Kalpwas with this holy bath today. The warm weather situation after long days of the cold also brings relief for pilgrims taking a dip at Sangam.<br/><br/>After this bathing, Kalpwasis are now leaving for their homes while the saints and Sadhus are also winding up their camps for their next destination. The one-month long festival showed glimpse of a small town busy with religious ceremonies and devotional life. Like earlier bathing occasions, elaborate civic and security arrangements have been made on this occasion."<br/><br/>In Hardwar, more than two lakh devotees took a dip in Holy river the Ganga till noon on the Occasion of Magh Purnima. Meanwhile, Peshwai of Juna Akhara and Agni Akhara is passing through the roads of the Holy city amidst tight security cover. Traffic has been diverted for peaceful conduct of the royal procession – Peshwai.
