Madras HC to ship Prathiba Cauvery: Not to be moved out of Chennai until Dec 6th

The Madras High Court has directed the ship Prathiba Cauvery should not be moved out of Chennai until the sixth of this month.

In a case filed by one of the victim’s brother, the Court said that the State and the Centre should file a reply before the sixth of this month.The Petitioner demanded a compensation of Rs.25 lakh.

Four bodies of the five missing sailors of the ship have been recovered so far. The ship MT Pratibha Cauvery,which was grounded by cyclone Nilam was drifted towards the shores of the Marina Beach.

One of the Victim’s bodies was found near Chennai Harbour another one was washed ashore near Adyar Estuary ,another one was found at Chepauk and the fourth one was washed ashore at Ennore.Three bodies have been identified so fat

Five sailors went missing while abandoning the ship and the lifeboat that they were using to leave the ship capsized on October 30th, the day of the Cyclone.
