The film Vishwaroopam has been stayed till Monday by the Division Bench of the Madras High Court Bench on Wednesday .
The Divison Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dharma Rao and Justice Aruna Jagadeesan set aside the Single Judge’s order lifting the ban on Kamalhasan’s movie Vishwaroopam and paved way for the screening of the Movie on Tuesday.
The Court gave a direction to the Tamilnadu Government to file a reply on the issue on Monday. The final hearing is scheduled for February 6th.
Earlier speaking to reporters at his residence, Actor Kamalhaassan said that he had a discussion with leaders of certain sections of Muslims and agreed to remove certain scenes allegedly relating to the Holy Quran in Viswaroopam.
An emotional Kamalhaasan gave explanations that he had no intention to hurt the sentiments of the Muslim brothers and also described the hardships he had taken to make the film.
Meanwhile, the film which was screened in several areas on Wednesday was interrupted by the authorities following expressions of displeasure.
