In the Madras High Court, Justice Karnan has suo motu passed an order staying his own transfer, creating flutter in legal circles. He was transferred on Friday by the Chief Justice of India as decided by the Collegium. In his order, Justice Karnan has also requested the Chief Justice of India to give a written statement on the issue through his subordinates by April 29th. <br/><br/>However, the Supreme Court Bench comprising Justices JS Khehar and R. Bhanumathi asked the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court not to assign any judicial work to Justice Karnan and effected a blanket ban of all the orders passed by him from the date of his transfer.
