In Madhya Pradesh, the death toll has gone up to 20 in Badarwas train accident. Nearly 27 people have been seriously injured in the incident. A goods train had collided head on with the stationary Indore-Gwalior Intercity at Badarwas station about 60 kms from Shivpuri district quarters early Monday morning. Two coaches of the train were badly damaged while another coach was also affected. AIR Bhopal correspondent reports that all bodies have been recovered. Injured have been admitted in Shivpuri and Guna district hospitals. An army helicopter was also used in rescue and relief operations. Local people are extending all possible support and help in the relief works. A railway enquiry has been ordered into the incident. The drivers of the both trains are reportedly absconding. At least two trains have been cancelled on this route due to accident. Union minister and MP from Guna-Shivpuri parliamentary area Jyotiraditya Scindia visited Shivpuri district hospital and inquired about the victims. State governor Rameshwar Thakur and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Congress's national general secretary Digvijay Singh and Congress state president Suresh Pachori have expressed grief over the incident. Meanwhile, Union Rail Minister Mamta Banerjee has announced an ex-gratia of 5 lakh rupees and government job to the relatives of the each deceased and one lakh each to seriously injured and fifty thousand to injured.
