Madhya Pradesh adjudged as best state for comprehensive development of tourism

Madhya Pradesh has been adjudged as the best state for comprehensive development of tourism, followed by Gujarat and Karnataka at the National Tourism Awards for the year 2014-2015.<br/><br/>Tourism Ministry annually presents National Tourism Award to various segments of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. <br/><br/>During the award function, Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur railway station received the Best Tourist Friendly railway station award while Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport got the Best Airport award and Telangana's Warangal received the best heritage city award. <br/><br/>Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan gave away the awards at the function in which Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma was also present. <br/><br/>Addressing the gathering Mr Sharma said, India attract less than one per cent of tourists globally and Prime Minister's dream is to turn tourism industry into a strong pillar for employment generation and foreign exchange earnings.
