Madhav Kumar stresses on implementation of four-point agreement

Nepal's caretaker Prime Minister Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed optimism that the peace can be achieved in the next four months if the Unified CPN (Maoists) sincerely implements the recent four-point agreement reached with the government on integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants.Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of the International Peace Day in Kathmandu today, he claimed that some achievements have been made in the peace process in the past one year with the discharge of disqualified Maoist combatants, clearance of the landmines and establishment of secretariats of the Peace Committee in 67 districts. While admitting that there has been slow progress in implementing the Compressive Peace Agreement and resolving major issues concerning the drafting of the constitution, Mr. Nepal however said the recent agreements between the Maoist and the government to bring the Maoist army under the control and command of Special Committee was a positive development towards ending the peace process.
