Nepal's Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has intensified consultations with political parties on the extension of the term of Constituent Assembly as it became almost certain that the new constitution will not be promulgated by the May 28 dateline owing to prevailing political deadlock among the major political parties.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister's press advisor Bishnu Rijal told newsmen that Mr. Madhav Nepal today held a meeting with the Chairman of Nepal Sadbhavana Party and lawmaker Shyam Sundar Gupta as a part of his effort to hold discussions with other parties to amend the interim constitution to extend the deadline to promulgate the new statute.
