Madhabi Puri Buch takes charge as first woman Chairperson of SEBI

<span style="color: #222222;">Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch on Wednesday took charge as the first woman Chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India. She succeeds Mr. Ajay Tyagi, whose five year term ended on 28th February 2022.<br />''<br />''With over three decades of experience, Ms. Buch has served as SEBI's Whole Time Member, handling departments related to regulation, surveillance, investment management besides investor assistance and education. The 57 year old has also served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at ICICI Securities Limited and has worked with the New Development Bank in Shanghai and as the Head of a Private Equity Firm's Singapore office.  <br />''<br />''A graduate in Mathematics from St. Stephen's College, New Delhi, Ms. Buch also holds a MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad. She has been given a three-year tenure as SEBI Chief.</span><br />
