A plague outbreak in Madagascar has killed 124 people. The outbreak began in August and has spread from rural areas of the island nation to its densely populated capital, Antananarivo. <br/><br/>Madagascar's health authorities have reportedly confirmed 1,192 cases as of Monday. Madagascar has seen an outbreak almost every year since 1980, between the months of September and April.<br/><br/>The disease killed 40 people in 2014. The French news agency AFP says the government has banned rallies in the capital to keep the disease from spreading, and many people are rushing to purchase protective masks.
