In Uttar Pradesh, Trinamool Congress nominee Syam Sunder Sharma has won Mad Assembly seat bye election in Mathura district securing 67457 votes. He defeated his nearest rival Rashtriya Lok Dal Candidate Yogesh Choudhary by a margin on more than six thousand votes. Ruling Samajwadi candidate Sanjay Lathar stood third bagging 50039 votes. AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that six time MLA Mr. Sharma successfully opened the account of Trinamool Congress in the State Assembly. He has snapped the seat from Rashtriya Lok Dal. He was defeated by the Rashtriya Lok Dal nominee Jayant Choudhary in the last Assembly election. Polling was held on June 12.
