In France, President-elect Emmanuel Macron's party, R'publique En Marche (Republic on the Move) has selected a diverse list of 428 candidates for parliamentary elections next month. Half of them are women.<br/><br/>Secretary General of the party, Richard Ferrand said, the choices marked the definitive return of citizens to the heart of French politics. He said 52 per cent of the candidates had never held electoral office. 24 of those chosen are outgoing MPs from the current Parliament. <br/><br/>Ferrand said the party will field candidates in all 577 seats and the its door is open to politicians from other parties to join. Marcon will be sworn in on Sunday as the youngest President, in France's history.
