<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorists were gunned down by security forces during an unsuccessful infiltration bid by them along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of Kupwara district.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Defence Spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said that the terrorists made an abortive bid during the night to infiltrate into the Indian side of the LoC in Machil Sector.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, the bid was foiled after the infiltrators were challenged by the jawans and three of them were subseqently killed.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Besides, three Army soldiers including an Officer, and a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan lost their lives and attained martyrdom during the operation. Two soldiers were also injured who have been shifted to hospital for treatment.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha paid tributes to the security personnel who attained martyrdom during the operation.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He saluted the supreme sacrifice of the jawans and lauded the courage and valour displayed by them while protecting the integrity and sovereignty of the country.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that the nation will always remain indebted to brave hearts who have laid down their lives for providing safe and secure environment to our people.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Sinha offered his deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.</span><br />''
