DMK Chief M.Karunanidhi has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to form the Cauvery Water Management Board. In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister Karunanidhi has stated that though the issue was before the Supreme Court there was no ban to form the Board.

Giving details of the hardships faced by the farmers, he said that the short term crop had failed in the past three years which had driven many farmers to commit suicide.

The Tamilnadu Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa has also urged the Prime Minister to constitute the Management Board to ensure steady water for irrigation in the delta districts.
