In Tamilnadu, the DMK Chief Mr.M.Karunanidhi has appealed to Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh to intervene in the hike in petrol prices issue and provide a relief to the common man.

Addressing a number of partymen in Chennai today, he said that people in the State were already suffering because of the hike in milk and bus fares, and the hike in petrol has hit them really hard.

The DMK is protesting against the hike in petrol prices through out the State at the District headquarters.
