Lucknow bench reserves judgment in NRHM scam in UP

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Friday reserved its judgment on a public interest litigation seeking CBI probe in alleged National Rural Health Mission scam in Uttar Pradesh. After hearing all the parties, justices Pradeepkant and Ritu Raj Awasthi reserved the judgment on the PIL filed by a local scribe. The state government had said that since CAG was already conducting a special audit on the request of the government, a CBI probe at this stage was not appropriate. The Centre has already expressed its stand that it has no objection if the matter is handed over to CBI. The petitioner had alleged irregularities in the implementation of NRHM in Uttar Pradesh.
