The CBI has conducted raids at Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Agra in connection with alleged overpricing of projects undertaken at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow in 2007-08. The CBI has registered criminal cases against four persons including the then Senior Managers of Lucknow Airport Pawan Kumar Jain and Alokesh Biswas. A Delhi based Senior Manager of Airport Authority of India and an officer from concerned construction company have also been named in the FIR. The CBI has also conducted searches at New Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad in this regard. AIR correspondent reports that the accused persons allegedly entered into criminal conspiracy by way of inflating the estimated costs of two civil project works including expansion and strengthening of apron and construction of new taxi way at the airport.
