Lt Governor Najeeb Jung has recommended President's rule in Delhi following resignation of Arvind Kejriwal government. According to Home Ministry sources, Jung has rejected in his report to the president, the recommendation of of the Delhi Cabinet to dissolve the Assembly. Instead, he has suggested to keep the assembly under suspended animation. The outgoing Delhi Cabinet yesterday recommended immediate dissolution of the Assembly and fresh polls to elect a new government. The Lt Governor is believed to have sent a factual report along with the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Cabinet's recommendation.
Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Chief Minister last night as his government failed to introduce its ambitious Jan Lokpal Bill in the Assembly due to lack of majority.
