In Jammu & Kashmir, Lt Gen AK Bhatt today took over as the 47th Corps Commander of Srinagar based 15 Corps, also called the Chinar Corps. <br/><br/>A befitting farewell was given to Lt Gen Sandhu at Badami Bagh Cantt who is proceeding to New Delhi to assume the charge of Military Secretary (MS).<br/>Lt Gen AK Bhatt was commissioned into the regiment of 9th Gorkha Rifles (Chindits) and has had an illustrious military career spanning 36 years during which he has held varied prestigious command, staff and instructional appointments. The General officer has an incisive understanding of J&K having served in the area thrice earlier. <br/><br/>Before taking over as Chinar Corps Commander, the General Officer was tenanting the prestigious appointment of Director General Military Operations in Army Headquarters.
