The Lok Sabha today witnessed noisy scenes including a brief adjournment during the question hour over a complaint with regard to language translation in the house. The Speaker, Mrs Meira Kumar adjourned the house for 15 minutes till 11.45 AM following a complaint by a senior DMK member that the translation of the reply by the Minister of State for Power, Mr. Bharatsinh Solanki was not available to the members. The Minister even offered to reply both in Hindi and English. Later, when the house reassembled, the Speaker offered apologies saying that there was a technical fault in the English translation and the same was rectified. However, some of the members objected to the complaint saying people are free to speak in any language in which they are fluent and comfortable. Later, the Minister continued with his reply on Hydro Power projects.
