The Lok Sabha will take up the Finance Bill for consideration and passage today. This was disclosed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath in New Delhi yesterday.
Talking to reporters outside Parliament, he said the government has decided to take up all financial business of the session today that includes the railway budget, general demands for grants, the appropriation bill and the finance bill.
Principal Opposition BJP has also said that the party will allow smooth passage of the Finance Bill in the Lok Sabha. BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the party has agreed to allow the House to function today to conduct financial business. He, however, said that the party will continue to press for their demands.
Both the houses of Parliament have been witnessing repeated adjournments in the second part of Budget Session. The two Houses could not transact much business yesterday also as the stalemate between the opposition and the government continued.
BJP has been pressing for the resignation of Prime Minister and the Law Minister over coal blocks allocation issue. Chinese incursion in Indian territory was also forcefully taken up by the members apart from other issues.
Congress alleged that the BJP is stalling proceedings in Parliament as the party's chances to show better performance in forthcoming assembly elections in Karnataka are bleak.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Congress spokesman Sandeep Dixit said the BJP is adopting obstructive methods in Parliament to send a political message to Karnataka.
