The Lok Sabha on Tuesday took up the High Court and the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill- 2017 for discussion and passing. <br/><br/>Moving the bill, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the bill relates to revising the salaries and allowances of Judges in the High Courts and the Supreme Court following implementation of 7th Pay Commission. He said the salaries will be revised from 1st of January 2016. <br/><br/>Mr. Prasad said after the revision, the Chief Justice of India will get Rs. 2.8 lakh per month and 2.5 lakh will be given to Supreme Court Judges. <br/><br/>The Chief Justice of High Court will draw Rs. 2.5 lakh while Judges will get 2.25 lakh rupees per month. <br/><br/>Initiating the discussion, K V Thomas of Congress stressed the need for modernization and improvement of infrastructures in the High Courts saying it should not be left to state governments only. <br/><br/>He also talked about assistance to young lawyers during their early age of profession. The discussion remained inconclusive. <br/>
