The Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is holding talks with Opposition parties to end the deadlock over JPC probe demand into the 2G Spectrum Scam in Parliament. After consultations with the main Opposition BJP on Thursday, Mrs Kumar is now holding discussions with CPM leaders and JD(U) Chief. After first day of talks, Mrs Kumar expressed confidence that government and the Opposition will be able to find a common ground to ensure smooth functioning of Budget Session of Parliament. She said that the political parties are keen to ensure that Parliament runs. During the Winter Session of Parliament, the Speaker held two rounds of talks with the political parties to break the logjam. Leader of the Lok Sabha and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee also held two inconclusive rounds of talks with the Opposition to end the deadlock. He even offered to convene a special session of Parliament to discuss the demand of JPC.
