Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will be on a four-day visit to Sri Lanka from today to participate in the eighth Conference of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians (ASSP). <br/><br/>The speaker will also participate in the 70th anniversary celebrations of Sri Lankan Parliament at a special session to be held tomorrow. <br/><br/>She will be accompanied by a delegation of MPs and senior officials of Lok Sabha. <br/><br/>The 8th Conference of ASSP to be held from Wednesday, will bring together Speakers and Parliamentarians from the member countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). <br/><br/>The three-day conference will be inaugurated by Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will deliver address. <br/><br/>Lok Sabha speaker will also meet Sri Lankan President and Prime minister to discuss issues of mutual interest between the two neighbouring countries.
