Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today led parliamentarians in paying floral tributes at the portrait of Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth anniversary in Central Hall of Parliament House. <br/><br/><br/>Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs S.S. Ahluwalia and former Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of Ethics Committee L.K. Advani also paid tributes to Savarkar. Among others who paid tributes to Savarkar were several current and former Members of Parliament. Secretary General of Lok Sabha Anoop Mishra and Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha Shumsher K. Sheriff also paid floral tributes.<br/><br/>A booklet containing the profile of Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries. The portrait of Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 26 February 2003.
