Anguished over the absence of members during Question Hour in the just concluded winter session, the speaker Mrs Meira Kumar said the image of Parliament as an institution should never get eroded and hoped the incident will not be repeated. She said, the collapse of Question Hour due to absence of members who had raised the questions happened only on a single day and she was disturbed and anguished over it. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mrs Kumar said if the image of Parliament gets affected it would lead to erosion of people's faith in Parliamentary democracy. Replying to questions on the proposal to install body scanners and vehicle scanners in Parliament House complex, she said the issue is being discussed. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, fifty Speakers and Presiding Officers of 42 Parliaments in Commonwealth countries, including Pakistan, will be participating in a conference in New Delhi which is being inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday.
