Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has convened an all-party meeting in New Delhi tomorrow to discuss Women's Reservation Bill. Official sources said, the Bill is likely to come up in the Lok Sabha in the Monsoon Session of Parliament. The Bill has been passed in the Rajya Sabha last year.In a letter to political parties, Kumar has also asked them to take steps for early passage of the Bill in the Lok Sabha. The bill grants 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.Meanwhile, Congress today reaffirmed its commitment to bring Women's reservation Bill in Lok Sabha in the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Talking to media in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan said that the UPA government got it passed in the Rajya Sabha and would like to see it as an act. Ms. Natrajan slammed the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh for its non action against the culprits involved in crimes against women in the State. She said, the situation in the state has deteriorated into anarchy and the Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati has no moral authority to continue in office.
