LS polls: Scrutiny of nominations for 128 seats today

Scrutiny of nominations for 128 Lok Sabha seats spread over 16 states will take place today. Of these, 7 seats will go to polls in the fourth phase on the 12th of April, voting for 121 seats will take place in the fifth phase on the 17th April.

The scrutiny of nominations 32 Assembly segments in Sikkim and 77 Assembly seats in Odisha will also take place today. While polling for 32 Assembly segments of Sikkim will take place along with the fourth phase of Parliamentary elections on 12th April, voting for 77 seats of Odisha Assembly will take place on the 17th April.

Filing of nominations for these 128 Lok Sabha seats and 109 Assembly segments in Sikkim and Odisha ended yesterday.

On the last day of filing of nominations for 7 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar yesterday, senior BJP leader and four-time Member of Parliament Lal Muni Chaubey filed his nomination paper as an independent candidate from Buxar seat while former RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav field his nomination paper as an BJP candidate from Patliputra seat. 29th of March will be the last date for withrawal of nominations in these constituencies.
