In Gujarat, the process of filing of nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections will come to an end today.
A total of 268 candidates have filed their nomination papers for 26 Lok Sabha seats since the filing of nominations started on 2nd April.
Those who have filed their nominations include BJP veteran L K Advani, bollywood actor and BJP leader Paresh Rawal and Congress candidate and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shankarsinh Vaghela and Congress general secretary Madhusudan Mistry.
Three Union Ministers Dinsha Patel, Bharatsinh Solanki and Tushar Chaudhari have also filed their nomination papers as Congress candidates.
Our Ahmedabad correspondent reports that Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will file his nomination papers from Vadodara Lok Sabha seat today.
Congress national spokesperson and former Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil will file his nomination for by-elections of Abdasa Assembly seat in Kutch district. The process of filing of nominations for by-polls of seven Assembly seats will also end today.
A total of 59 candidates have filed nominations for the by-polls of seven Assembly seats. Scrutiny of nominations will be done on 10th April while last date for withdrawal of candidature is 12th April. Polling will be held on 30th April.
