LS passes Indian Medical Council Amendment Bill 2011

The Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Indian Medical Council Amendment Bill 2011. The bill seeks to provide better health facilities in the country. Replying to the discussion, Health minister Ghulam Nabhi Azad said that Government will add fifteen thousand Medical Post Graduation seats in the next five years. He added that government has formulated policies to incentives private sector to set up Medical colleges. Mr. Azad said that government has taken effective measures to encourage medical practitioners in rural areas across the country.
