The Lok Sabha today passed four bills without any debate in the midst of entire opposition staging a walk out after protesting against the manner in which the bills were being passed.<br/><br/>A bill to expand the the role of civil defence to deal with disaster management work and to protect people and their property in case of an attack, was passed .<br/><br/>Another important bill to amend the law on transplantation of human organs was also passed. The relatives for giving consent for transplantation will also now include, grand father, grand mother, grandson and grand daughter. There are also stringent provisions to check the trade in human organs and include tissues of human bodies for transplantation. The present law provides transplantation of heart, liver, kindey and corneas.<br/><br/>A bill seeking constitution of a commercial division in the High Courts for adjudicating commercial disputes and for matters connected and a bill seeking establish and enforce standards of weight and measures, regulate trade and commerce in weights were passed.
