The Lok Sabha passed the Damodar Valley Corporation Amendment Bill, 2011 by a voice vote on Wednesday. Replying to the debate, the Power Minister, Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde said the administrative reform steps for Damodar Valley Corporation are brought in consultation with the beneficiary State Governments of West Bengal and Jharkhand. He explained that the age factor of some of the dams in the project area made water management difficult. The Minister also assured to have a relook at the rehabilitation grievances of the left out displaced persons.
