The Lok Sabha was informed today that out of the 18 ongoing projects in the North Eastern Region, 10 have been declared as National Projects. A dedicated fund has also been created for executing these projects. In reply to a question, Railway Minister Mukul Roy said that the doubling of the 44-kilometre Lumding-Hojai line is being sanctioned. Eight proposals of new lines have been sent to the Planning Commission for approval, he said.
