The government today said that it is considering the proposal to include the Rajasthani and Bhojpuri languages in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution. Responding to a Calling Attention in this regard in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Ajay Maken said the government has received altogether 38 such proposals so far. He said, the government is also holding discussions with various ministries on the report of the Sitakanta Mohapatra Committee on the issue. Earlier, responding to demand by some members for government's reaction, the Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee urged them to take up the issue through a discussion in the next session.’
