Congress and BJP have shared one seat each in the by-elections to two Lok Sabha constituencies. Congress candidate Abhijeet Mukherjee has won the Jangipur Parliamentary seat in West Bengal and BJP's Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah won Tehri Lok Sabha bypoll in Uttarakhand.
Abhijeet Mukherjee defeated his nearest CPIM rival by 2536 votes. The Jangipur Parliamentary seat fell vacant after Pranab Mukherjee got elected as President of India.
In Uttrakhand, Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah defeated Saket Bahuguna of Congress.
