The Lok Sabha has adopted a motion calling upon the government to take further effective action to contain the inflationary pressures on the economy and its adverse impact on the common man. The motion was read out by the Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar who took the sense of the house immediately after the reply by the Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee and response by the Leader of the Opposition, Mrs Sushma Swaraj.
