LS adjourned till noon after noisy scenes over several issues

Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned on different
issues. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till noon following uproarious
scene on the hike in petrol and diesel prices. As soon as the House
met for the day, Left party members trooped into the well raising
slogans against the rising prices of the petroleum products. Amidst
noisy scenes, Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj demanded a reply from Coal Minister with Prime Minister’s intervention on the missing files related to coal blocks allocation. She said the government had given an assurance to the House earlier. Sharad Yadav of JD(U) demanded protection of reservation for SC, ST and OBC in the appointment of various positions in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in different states. Following noisy scenes, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House till noon.
In the Rajya Sabha, which witnessed a 10-minute adjournment, BJP members demanded that Prime Minister's statement on the missing coal files. As they insisted on the presence of Dr Manmohan Singh in the House, Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House for ten minutes. When the House re-assembled , Leader of Opposition Arun Jaitley said his party has been urging the government that Prime Minister should intervene on the reply by Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal. Responding to this, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Shukla said the Prime Minister will intervene in the House after the Zero Hour. Later, the Rajya Sabha resumed its business.
