LS adjourned till 12.30 PM amidst ruckus on privileged motion issue

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for 10 minutes till 12.30 PM amidst ruckus on the issue of privileged motion. After the question hour, the opposition members requested the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to raise the issue. She said all privileged motions moved by members of different parties are under consideration. But, the members stuck to their demand. The Speaker terming their case as special, allowed each members to speak about their privilege motion.<br/><br/>K C Venugopal of the Congress said he has moved the motion against HRD Minister Smriti Irani for allegedly misleading the House in connection with suicide of Research Scholar Rohith Vemula case at Hyderabad University. Ranjita Ranjan of Congress said how can the HRD Minister take her name during her reply on JNU and Hyderabad University row.<br/><br/>Saugata Roy of the Trinamool Congress also spoke about his privilege motion against Mrs Irani on the same issue. Arjun Ram Meghwal of the BJP objected to their allegations against Mrs Irani. But, amidst uproarious scene the Speaker had to adjourn the House for ten minutes. Earlier, the Speaker also disallowed some adjournment motions moved by other members on different issues saying their motions do not warrant disruption of proceedings of the House.
