LS adjourned sine die over Telangana issue

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned sine die. The move to adjourn the before its scheduled date came after repeated disruptions over Telangana issue for three consecutive days. Before adjourning the Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar expressed concern over the growing trend of some sections of House, who tried to paralyse the House in order to make a political point. She said, this tragic development renders the democratic process ineffective and irrelevant.<br/><br/>Calling for introspection, Mrs. Meira Kumar hoped that the members will make a collective effort to maintain the traditions of enlightened debates and discussions. Referring to the Telangana issue which had rocked the House since Wednesday, the Speaker said that the democratic processes are charecterised by flexibility of approaches and hoped that such attitude will be adopted in the coming days and the democratic spirit of inclusiveness will re-assert itself in the state of Andhra Pradesh.<br/><br/>Earlier, the House was adjourned for nearly forty minutes during question hour because of the uproar over the Telangana issue with members from the TDP and the MPs from the Telangana region, raising pitch over the matter. In the midst of pandemonium, apart from the laying of papers including a White Paper and Vision Document of the Railways and passing of four bills without discussion, the entire opposition walked out in protest against this. During the 21 sittings, 19 bills were passed and 21 bills introduced.<br/><br/> <br/><br/> <br/>
