The sugarcane growers issue rocked the Lok Sabha on the very first day of the Winter Session leading to its adjournment for the day. After the new members took oath and obituaries were over, the members of Samajwadi Party, RLD and BSP rushed to the well of the House shouting slogans. The Speaker said that the issue can be discussed in detail later and the question hour should be allowed. However, the uproar continued and the House was adjourned till noon. When the House reassembled the same situation prevailed and the House was adjourned for the day.<br/> <br/>Earlier, three new members, one elected Raj Babbar and two nominated members Charles Dias and Ms. Ingrid Mcleod took the oath. The House also paid tributes to the nine former members of the House who had died during the inter session period. The House also condemned the killing of security personnel and others in the Naxal attacks in Gadcharoli in Maharashtra and Bastar in Chattisgarh and mourned the death of people killed in two railway accidents and two boat tragedies. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after paying tributes two of its sitting members Pyarelal Khandelwal and Mahendra Sahni. The Chairman, Mohd. Hamid Ansari recalled the services of the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajsekhar Reddy and the former Information and Broadcasting Minister Mr. P. Upendra who died recently.<br/><br/>
