LS adjourned over MPs’ remark

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 4.44 PM following heated exchanges over a remark by Mr. Ananta Kumar of the BJP about the RJD leader, Mr. Lalu Prasad during the discussion on the parameters for conducting Census. Taking strong exception to the remarks, Mr. Lalu Prasad demanded an apology from Mr. Kumar. The house was, first adjourned in the post-lunch session till 3.30 PM and later for an hour as verbal clashes continued between the BJP and the RJD members. Earlier, the house witnessed uproarious scenes and adjournments in the pre-lunch session over the remark of Mr. Sudeep Bandopadhyaya of the Trinamool Congress about the senior CPIM member, Mr. Basudeb Acharia. However, after the Speaker, Mrs. Meira Kumar, expressed displeasure over the remarks, the house began normal business.<br/>
