LS adjourned for the day amid uproar over price rise & rail fare hike

Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day. Earlier, the first day on the Budget Session of the Lok Sabha got off to a stormy note, as the House witnessed two adjournments on the issue of price rise and rail fare hike.

TMC members also demanded discussion on the same issue. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan in her ruling said that she will not allow discussion on this issue under adjournment motion.

However, members did not pay heed to the Speaker’s ruling and they continued to press for their demand. Amidst the din, the Speaker had to adjourn the House till 2 P.M.
