Both the Houses of Parliament witnessed frequent adjournments today, the Lok Sabha on the issue of Walmart and the Rajya Sabha on Reservations in promotion for SCs and STs. The Lok Sabha was adjourned thrice before it was a finally adjourned for the day with opposition members demanding an inquiry into the Walmart issue. They urged the government to set up a time-bound inquiry into the allegations of bribery against the retail major. Raising slogans, the opposition members trooped into the well of the house forcing the Chair to adjourn the house for the day.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice in the post lunch session today. It was adjourned initially for 45 minutes and then for an hour as Samajwadi Party members stalled the proceedings protesting against the reservations in promotions for SCs STs. Following slogan shouting, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien adjourned the house till 4PM.
