Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day and the Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 pm.Earlier both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned till noon over Telangana issue on the first day today of the extended Winter Session. Earlier, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha paid tributes to their former members, who died during the inter-session with the members observing silence in the memory of the departed leaders.

Making a reference, Speaker Meira Kumar expressed deep sorrow over the death of 27 passengers in a bus accident near Mumbai in Maharashtra, 31 people in an under-construction building collapse in Panaji, 18 people in a stampede in Mumbai and 21 tourists in a boat capsizing near Port Blair in Andamans last month. She also condoled the loss of 54 lives in a Super Market roof collapse in the Latvian capital Riga on 21st of November last year. She condemned the dastardly terrorist attacks against civilians in the Russian city of Volgogard in December last year.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari expressed deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families whose kith and kin were killed in bus, train and boat accidents.

Telugu Desam Party MPs today staged a dharna in front of the main gate of Parliament House demanding the continuation of Andhra Pradesh as it exists now. They raised slogans in support of their demands.
